چکیده
Yeonsil Moon*, Seol-Heui Han*, † Department of Neurology*, Konkuk University Medical Center, Seoul; Center for Geriatric Neuroscience Research, Institute of Biomedical Science†, Konkuk University, Seoul, Korea Vertebral artery dissection is one of the most common causes of stroke in young adults. The course of the vertebral artery dissection is usually benign, and pure transient amnesia as an initial symptom has been rarely reported. We describe a patient with vertebral artery dissection who presented with acute transient amnesia, and review the medical literatures about the pathophysiological mechanism of transient global amenesia (TGA). This case could be a one of evidence which supports the cerebrovascular mechanism of TGA.

A case of aberrant bilateral vertebral arteries orgin presenting with right VA dissection
Background: Knowledge of variations in the origin of vertebral artery (VA) is indispensable to vascular surgeons. Aberrant origin of vertebral artery on either side is an uncommon finding. There are unilateral and bilateral variability in VA origin. Case presentation: We present a case of vertebral artery dissection who was found to have bilateral VAs aberrant origin. The right VA took origin ...
متن کاملA rare case of aortic dissection presenting as pure transient global amnesia.
Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a well-described neurological phenomenon. Clinically, it manifests with the sudden onset of a paroxysmal, transient loss of anterograde memory and disorientation but with intact consciousness. Typically, symptoms last for only a few hours. We present an unusual case of aortic dissection presenting with pure TGA in a patient, who had a positive outcome. This is ...
متن کاملTransient amnesia resulting from vertebral artery dissection.
Acute transient amnesia has not been previously associated with vertebral artery dissection. We describe two men with acute onset of dense anterograde amnesia and partial retrograde amnesia resulting from spontaneous vertebral artery dissection. Both amnesic syndromes completely resolved with conservative management.
متن کاملTransient Global Amnesia and Brain Tumour: Chance Concurrence or Aetiological Association? Case Report and Systematic Literature Review
We report a patient presenting with episodes of transient amnesia, some with features suggestive of transient global amnesia (TGA), and some more reminiscent of transient epileptic amnesia. Investigation with neuroimaging revealed an intrinsic lesion in the right amygdala, with features suggestive of low-grade neoplasia. We undertook a systematic review of the literature on TGA and brain tumour...
متن کاملThe Cervical Sequestrated Disc Fragment Presenting as Mass Lesion: Case Report and Review of the Literature
Background & Importance: Disc herniation is defined as the prolapsed of material disc into the spinal canal. If the disc fragment is free in spinal canal, it is called sequestration disc fragment. Occasionally, alteration in sequestration disc fragment makes the diagnosis of the disc herniation, challenging. Case Presentation: We reviewed a rare case of the cervical sequestrated disc...
